I have always loved painting — the way a single image can hold an entire world within it. Life, as it so often does, took me in other directions, and I never got the chance to pursue it myself. But sometimes, the things we love find their way back to us in unexpected forms.
That is exactly what happened when I discovered Vietnamese art.
There is something quietly extraordinary about these works. Painted by talented, largely undiscovered artists working across Vietnam, each piece carries with it something I can only describe as a soul — a glimpse into a life, a landscape, a feeling that is deeply Vietnamese and yet completely universal. It felt like a privilege to see it. And once I saw it, I knew I wanted other people to see it too.
Isla's Gallery exists to close the distance between these artists and the people who would love their work — to make it easier for extraordinary Vietnamese paintings to find their way into homes across the UK, and for the artists behind them to be seen and celebrated.
